Construction is underway at the site of the new restaurant at 81 Cannon Street in Cannonborough. The location has been in the works since 2021, but a representative confirmed to What Now Charleston that they are close to being able to announce an official opening date.

The chain is popular for their frozen wine slushies and sandwiches, which are served up at locations on Sullivan and Kiawah Islands, Isle of Palms, in Uptown Charleston, and most recently a Nexton location which opened in July. They also operate three out-of-state stores in Tennessee and North Carolina.

Co-Op Marketing Director Jenny Beckham shared that the new downtown location will feature an expanded menu of both food and drinks. Cannon Street will be their first café with a full bar, and a larger kitchen space will enable them to offer an expanded menu, including their previously seasonal-only burgers and fries. They also anticipate extended hours for the downtown spot, allowing patrons to enjoy the same upbeat, beachy ambiance a little later into the night.

Beckham told What Now Charleston the company is excited to bring a central Charleston location because of the strong community support they’ve received for their island cafés. “We love the location, we think it’s a really great part of the community right there,” said Beckham. “We expect a great mix of generations – college students, families, residents, tourists. We’re thinking it’ll be a hangout for all.”
