Frank and Jack’s on Ira, located across from the Wando Crossing Shopping Center off Highway 17 at Interstate 526, is a new venture from investment group High Tide Provisions LLC. This is the group’s first project in the area, although they’ve operated several other hospitality ventures on the West coast, according to project manager Stephanie Samuels. The new restaurant’s name was chosen to honor two of their late colleagues.
Samuels told What Now Charleston that the restaurant will serve Italian-inspired comfort food, but the real star will be the outdoor space. The concept will emphasize an indoor/outdoor layout with a flexible restaurant space that opens into outdoor dining and recreation area where patrons can gather to enjoy live music and events. Inside, the restaurant will feature a mezzanine for private parties, while the outside grounds will include a large covered patio, ice cream shop, and games area for shuffleboard and bocce ball.
High Tide has assembled an all-star local team for the project, bringing together Bello Garris Architects, C.B. Elrod Co. Construction, and Hunter Studio for interiors. Chef Michael Zentner of The Drifter will lead development of their menu as culinary consultant.
Initial architectural plans for Frank and Jack’s on Ira will be reviewed by the Mount Pleasant Design Review Board on August 30th. Once permits have been secured, the group plans to break ground this fall with an an anticipated grand opening in the spring of 2024.
