Voodoo Brewing coins itself as an American Beer Hall with a “European Beer Hall feel for those who don’t live by the corporate rules.” They serve a variety of craft beer along with pub favorites and pizza. Founded in Meadville in 2005, the brand opened their first taproom in 2012. Since beginning their franchise program in 2018, they’ve expanded to 13 locations.
Their latest franchise agreement for three locations in the Myrtle Beach and Charleston areas will put that number at 16.
Franchisee Todd Pinkler shared with What Now Charleston that the first location will open in Myrtle Beach next spring, with a Charleston location to follow within the next few years. He expects the third to be somewhere in between the two. This will be Pinkler’s first venture into the restaurant industry, coinciding with his retirement from a more than 20 year career in the Marines.
Other South Carolina Voodoo locations are in Fountain Inn outside of Greenville, and a Murrell’s Inlet location which is set to open later this month.
Permits are already approved for the Myrtle Beach brewery, at the former Carolina Comedy Club location at 1318 Celebrity Circle. If everything goes smoothly, Pinkler is hoping to be open for business by March 2024.
