“We love the Charleston market and the King Street area is just exceptional. The new store is surrounded by great retail and a tight knit community, which is exactly what we look for in a location. Our founder also loves it here. He has a house in Folly Beach, so this is a big passion project for him as well,” president Anthony Valletta told What Now Charleston.
The Chucktown outlet will deploy a new design prototype. According to Valletta, the dining room will have a second story loft and upper dining room exposed to the downstairs. “We wanted to highlight the history of the building and really feel like an authentic part of King Street. We kept the original brick, woodwork, old windows and doors that were there before.”
The menu will be the same as the other locations, serving tacos, rice bowls, Latin-inspired dishes, salads, cocktails, beer and wine.
“This has been a great project. Hiring is already kicking off and we’re excited to open a new design for Bartaco.”
