Summerville’s newest bagel shop, Wakey Bakey Bagel, is set to grace Downtown Nexton, occupying 1,867 square feet between Sigma Drive and Brighton Park Boulevard, on the ground floor of The Lofts apartments. This development was first reported by The Post and Courier.
Owned by local restaurateurs Christopher and Keila Garate, Wakey Bakey Bagel will offer an array of breakfast delights, from pastries and coffee to their specialty: bagels.
The husband-and-wife duo, who first crossed paths nearly two decades ago at The Culinary Institute of America, also own the nearby BKeDSHoP in Nexton Square, as well as KITCHeN, a DHEC-certified commissary kitchen that caters to small businesses and food trucks.
