The Post and Courier reports that Chipotle Mexican Grill recently submitted a permit application to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control for a 2,350-square-foot restaurant.

The new Chipotle would be located on an outparcel within the recently opened Harris Teeter-anchored shopping center at 1275 Nexton Pkwy.

Founded in Denver, Colorado in 1993, the eatery operates over 3,000 locations worldwide, including 40 in South Carolina alone.

Emphasizing “reliably real” ingredients, Chipotle offers a fast-casual dining experience with a focus on healthier options. The restaurant is known for its customizable bowls, tacos, and Mission burritos, prepared fresh in front of customers.

Stay tuned for an exact location and opening day details as this project progresses in Nexton.
