According to a recent report from Nexton.com, SweetFrog Frozen Yogurt and Planet Smoothie—both owned by Kahala Brands—are coming to Marketplace at Nexton. This new commercial space is located at the intersection of Nexton Parkway and Cross Park Lane, just behind First Citizen’s Bank.

With over 300 locations in the United States and several more internationally, sweetFrog Frozen Yogurt is known for its wide variety of frozen yogurt flavors, including options like Caramel Apple Pie, Irish Mint, Cake Batter, and Salted Caramel Pretzel. The eatery also offers dairy-free, low-sugar, and low-fat flavors.

Planet Smoothie operates more than 150 national locations, gaining popularity for its vibrant smoothie menu, which includes favorites like The Last Mango, PB Blues, and Lean Green Extreme. The shop’s offerings accommodate various dietary preferences, from low-sugar options to protein-enhanced blends and energy boosters.

Cassie Cataline, Director of Marketing for Nexton, told What Now Charleston that a franchisee has not yet been selected but assured that updates will follow once somebody is chosen.

While the exact location and opening date are still to be announced, Marketplace at Nexton is expected to debut in late 2025. What Now Charleston has reached out to various Kahala Brands representatives for further details and will update this page as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: This article has been updated to include details about Planet Smoothie, as it was initially believed that the new SweetFrog location would be operating alone.
