Due to circumstances beyond her control, local chef Annie Whitlock has spent nearly six years without a brick-and-mortar restaurant, but it looks like her luck is turning around.

Addielee’s Gourmet Chicken Patties is set to reopen soon at 106 Behrman St, Suite 102 in Moncks Corner, according to a recent Facebook update from Whitlock. “This is coming soon y’all,” she wrote. “Keep watching!”
Whitlock originally opened Addielee’s on Bonds Ave in North Charleston, then moved the restaurant to Moncks Corner, as reported by The Post and Courier. After closing up shop, she planned to reopen inside Heart to Heart International Ministries, a church renting space to small businesses.
However, pandemic-related delays prevented the opening, forcing Whitlock to pivot to catering. Years later, she’s excited to finally reopen in that same location and return to a full restaurant setting.
In addition to its famous chicken patties, Addielee’s offers fish sandwiches, tacos, hot wings, sweet treats, and other soul food staples. Whitlock’s oxtails were even featured on an episode of the Food Network’s Super Southern Eats in 2017.
A reopening date has not yet been announced, and Whitlock was not immediately available for comment. For the latest updates, follow Addielee’s on Facebook and consider donating to the restaurant’s GoFundMe.
