Local restaurateur Nick Borreggine is transforming the former site of Fat Patties at 831 Parris Island Gateway in Port Royal into Scratch Italian Kitchen + Bar.
According to the restaurant’s Google Business page, everything at Scratch will be made from, you guessed it, scratch—including housemade pastas and signature cocktails. All ingredients, including flour, will be sourced directly from Italy.
Scratch aims to create a kid-friendly and casual atmosphere with “a touch of class,” featuring both indoor and outdoor seating, along with a pet-friendly patio.
In a recent Facebook update, Scratch showcased its pasta-making machines with the caption, “Unwrapping day! We had these machines imported from Italy over three months ago. We have wanted to open them up and start playing since. Today we finally uncrated them.”
While an official opening date has not yet been announced, Scratch Italian Kitchen + Bar is currently hiring. For updates on the grand opening, follow the restaurant on Facebook and Instagram.
