Recent permits filed with the city reveal that construction is slated to commence soon for a new Cava restaurant at 1149 Savannah Hwy #315. The 2,480-square-foot suite is set for significant renovations totaling roughly $600,000, including updates such as new restrooms, kitchen equipment, and interior enhancements.

Cava is celebrated for its classic Mediterranean-inspired menu, featuring an enticing selection of salad and grain bowls like the Tahini Caesar, along with popular pita wraps such as the Crispy Falafel. Complementing these main offerings are an array of side dips and desserts, including favorites like hummus and blondies.

Established in 2006, Cava has grown into a nationwide phenomenon with over 300 locations across the country. South Carolina is no stranger to the brand, with existing sites in Mt Pleasant, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Lexington, and Columbia, to name a few.

Like Chipotle, Cava stands out in the fast-food industry for its unique business model. With the exception of one single licensed location, all of its restaurants are company-owned, a rarity in the field.

With construction plans reviewed and approved, work is set to start soon. Residents of West Ashley, stay tuned for further updates as the opening date approaches.
