Owners Brian and Sassy Henry got their start by casually serving Lowcountry boils and appetizers, including Sassy’s famed pimento cheese recipe, at their Sea View Inn. In 2007, the Henrys started selling small batches of Sassy’s “Palmetto Cheese,” and soon after switched production over to what is today their Get Carried Away storefront on Pawleys Island.

When production yet again outgrew the storefront and moved, Get Carried Away transitioned to producing prepared items like Lowcountry boils, casseroles, dips, spreads, sweet and savory pies, seafood and many other local favorites. They also offer gift items and groceries such as milk, eggs, butter, produce, craft beer and wine. We expect the new location will have similar offerings.

“We chose this Mount Plesant location because of the vibrant community with young families and the Old Village nearby. Our concept is geared toward people that like to host and entertain, and we feel like we are in just the right place! We plan to focus our efforts on this location for the next few years, but we absolutely plan to open new locations with an eye toward the coast as well as upstate SC,” Brian Henry told What Now Charleston.

The interior at the new location is still under renovation, but the Henrys are hoping to be open right after the new year, with full service dining starting by late winter or early spring.
